WINconnect celebrates carbon neutrality with Climate Active certification
WAAA is delighted to announce WINconnect has recently achieved carbon neutrality and has been officially certified by Climate Active, a partnership between the Australian Government and businesses, driving voluntary climate action.
Climate Active certification is awarded to Australian businesses which have met rigorous requirements to achieve net zero emissions by credibly reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and offsetting any remaining emissions through the purchase of carbon offsets.
WINconnect CEO Phil Baxter said Climate Active certification was a huge step forward for the company.
“We are proud of the changes we have made in our business to achieve net zero emissions. In everything we do, we want to set the standard for our industry and deliver the sustainability outcomes our customers expect,” Mr Baxter said.
“By working with Climate Active, we’ve joined some of the most recognisable companies in Australia in sending a clear message that we’re serious about climate change and committed to sustainability, innovation and leadership.”
Founded in 2005, WINconnect is Australia’s largest provider of Community Energy Networks. Installed in multi-tenanted developments such as apartment buildings, WINconnect’s unique offering allows apartment residents to access the sustainability and economic benefits of solar panels and electric vehicle chargers, technology previously reserved for standalone homes and commercial use.
Climate Active is the only government accredited carbon neutral certification scheme in Australia and represents Australian businesses’ collective effort to calculate, reduce, and offset carbon emissions to reduce the impact of climate change on the environment.
