Mirvac celebrates the end of an era

Samantha Reece, Director of WAAA recently attended the completion of Mirvac's Compass apartments, their final building in what has been a 14 year history at Leighton Beach.

Taking a tour through the apartments Samantha was delighted to see clever use of space within the apartments including study nooks, winter balconies and ample storage.

Samantha stated that she remembered the furor back in 2003 with the Save our Sunset group who lobbied against the development.

"When you have a reputable developer such as Mirvac who have been building apartments since 1972, the Local and State Governments need to have confidence that every thought has gone into both creating liveable apartments but also communities," Ms Reece said.

"Several of those people who petitioned against the development are now residents in Compass and that is an example of how quality can convert even the most opposed community members."

Samantha was joined by the Mirvac team and residents on the stunning entertainment terrace with fabulous ocean views, as part of the celebrations.
