Apartment with backyard offers community feel

July 15, 2019

Samantha was delighted to be invited to Pam and Amy Mickelberg’s apartment building in West Perth. This 50 year old apartment building with 75 apartments has an amazing strip of lawn which has the traditional hills hoist as well as chooks, veggie patch and a pool. A 2 bedroom apartment sells for $350,000 and the Council of Owners has trialed a green waste composting system, Salvation Army bins for clothing (which is collected weekly) and even have a book exchange in their letterbox area. This is an excellent example of an older building that still is innovative and has a strong sense of community and it was gorgeous to see! Why can’t modern apartments also have these amenities too? Something worth considering for sure!
