WAAA Director becomes an apartment owner

Endorsing her own advice that now is the time to buy, WA Apartment Advocacy Director Samantha Reece confirmed last week that she has settled on a two bedroom apartment at Port Coogee.

With uninterrupted views across the marina and Port Coogee beach, Samantha stated that it was her recent trip to Manly in NSW that solidified the purchase.

“We were staying in a 1970’s apartment across from the beach and despite its age it would still have sold upward of $1.2 million,” Ms Reece said.

“I knew that if we waited for our retirement in another 15 years we would be unlikely to afford a beach front apartment – especially one with views that would not be built out.”

The apartment has an internal floor area of 82sqm and a 55sqm balcony which Ms Reece also said was unique.

“The balcony size really does emphasise the value of the apartment and further more in this market place we were able to secure a 5% guaranteed rental income for 12 months which sweetened the deal further.

“With the market in recovery there are still opportunities to secure great apartments at competitive prices and the flexibility to negotiate further outcomes such as rental returns and so forth.

“If you have been thinking of making an apartment purchase then my advice is to strike now rather than wait.”
